Areas of Practice

DoD acquisition systems integration and Test

Focused Ingenuity’s core business area involves support for the integration and test of large-scale, complex systems-of-systems within the DoD C4ISR arena.  Our customers include US Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), Program Managers Warfighter Information Network – Tactical (WIN-T) and Sensors Aerial Intelligence (SAI), and Aberdeen Test Center (ATC).  Our staff have led the design, planning, execution and analysis of complex test events, involving a wide variety of networked systems, distributed across physical and network enclaves.  Our experience across the Army C4ISR community, and our understanding of the relationships between Material Development, Combat Development and Test/Evaluation, enable us to provide oversight, guidance and unique expertise to each effort.

Network and Radio System Analysis

As a result of our support across the DoD C4ISR realm, we have developed a corporate mix of expertise uncommon within our community.  This expertise spans from the physical to application layers, including deep understanding of the manner in which both current and developing systems work, and more importantly, the impact such modes of operation have on related systems.  These interoperability challenges are very difficult, if not impossible, to solve from the perspective of a single system, and require expertise across both technology and mission areas.

Network and radio systems simulation

Focused Ingenuity has years of experience working with full echelon simulation systems.  Focused Ingenuity has performed complex analysis on combined radio system behavior and interaction.  Using our experience with real-world scenarios and equipment, Focused Ingenuity has helped tune simulation primitive to closely match actual equipment and has ensured results in line with actual systems.

Visualization and analysis of complex data sets

Focused Ingenuity’s principals and staff have decades of combined experience in the use of visualization to understand, illustrate and clarify the contents of large, multi-faceted datasets.  This experience has been applied directly to the analysis of data collected during system testing of programs such as WIN-T Increment 2 and the Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS), as well as in the simulation of aggregate Brigade Combat Team (BCT)-scale C4ISR networks.  More recently, using a unique arrangement leveraging resources from multiple customers, we are developing a web-based environment supporting flexible visualization and analysis of data collected from diverse instrumentation/sensor systems.
